Biography of Reverend Marlon Henderson, Sr.

Pastor Henderson

Reverend Marlon Henderson, Sr., has a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. With a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry, he obediently fulfills his calling as Pastor, Teacher and Preacher.

Reverend Henderson was born in 1978, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and reared in Hammond, Louisiana. He began serving the church community as a musician in his grandfather’s church and several other churches in the surrounding areas at the tender age of ten. At the age of twenty-nine he accepted the mandate from God to proclaim His Word. Because his passion for the word of God was so evident, one year and two months after preaching his first sermon, Terry’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Gillsburg, Mississippi called him as pastor. After serving Terry’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church for four years, the Lord led Pastor Henderson to form the Empowering Life Christian Church in Magnolia, Mississippi. During the brief tenure of Empowering Life Christian Church, the ministry has experienced tremendous growth. In March of 2017, God led Pastor Henderson to the Clinton, Louisiana area. He was installed as shepherd of the Union Chapel Baptist Church on May, 7, 2017. Since being overseer of the church there has been an increase in the membership.

Pastor Henderson is blessed to share each day of his life with his three beautiful and supportive children, Marlon Jr., Skylon Christopher and Madison Alise. Far above all else, Pastor Henderson gives God complete glory! And as he always say “God Has Done It Again”.
